Me By Definition

, This is me. The definition of me as a woman. It’s loving, caring, nurturing. It’s also periods, PMS and hormones. It’s being discriminated in the workplace. It’s difficulty in traveling in the dark. It’s barely tight heels and barely fitting, accentuating jeans. It’s jokes on how I can’t drive. It’s suppressing my anger up for domestic peace. It’s a life-long affair with clothes, cosmetics jewels and fashion. It’s defending my emotions, my thoughts, my gender. It’s never-ending shopping, cooking, cleaning and housekeeping. It’s giving birth. It’s healing, soothing and guiding. It’s hard work, sleepless nights, diagnostic dilemmas, cancer, dying, death and abortion. It’s being taken for granted. It’s friendship that is caring, sharing, comforting, joking and laughing together. It’s envy, jealousy and betrayal. It’s silent sadness. It’s secrets. It’s dressing up just for the sake of dressing up. It’s approval of self. It’s confidence in self. It’s love of self.
